Australia’s north-eastern states were hit hard during Tropical Cyclone Debbie. Accordingly, Bowls Australia is asking you to lend support.
A trail of destruction has ripped through Queensland and then northern New South Wales in recent days. And while the full force of the cyclone is not yet known, more rains and flash floods are expected to reach landfall soon. Consequently, Bowls Australia has sprung into action through the national Bowls Disaster Relief Fund.
A number of clubs across the states have or will be affected by Cyclone Debbie. Bowen Bowls Club had its roof ripped from the building.
Bowls Australia set up the Fund in early 2011 in partnership with state and territory associations to help clubs in times of need.
Funding is available to assist your club in three areas;
Clubs affected by the Cyclone Debbie are encouraged to apply for funding via this form. 100% of all money we raise is then directed to clubs in need.
We ask non-affected clubs to plan events and then donate proceeds to the Bowls Disaster Relief Fund. Bowls Australia’s Regional Bowls Managers network will then help with promoting these events.
