NSW Stars shine brightly at Kirribilli

2016 Bowls NSW Player Awards

2016 NSW Volunteer of the Year: Cecily Johnson

The 2016 Bowls NSW Player Awards has once again proven to be a highlight of the calendar. This year’s event was the second edition of both Bowls NSW and Women’s Bowls NSW joining forces to celebrate and recognise the fantastic playing achievements of NSW bowlers, Hall of Fame inductees and the Volunteer of the Year. Held at the iconic Kirribilli Club, over 350 people including his Excellency General, The Honourable David Hurley, Governor of NSW and Mrs Hurley, were on hand to witness just why New South Wales is such a dominant force in this country – not just at open level but juniors, seniors and bowlers with a disability across both sexes.

Bowls NSW Player Awards are based on achievements in NSW Association events (Bowls NSW, Women’s Bowls NSW and Wheelchair Sports NSW).

St Johns Park won the Best Performed Metropolitan Club of the Year. Congratulations to all 2016 Bowls NSW Player Awards Winners!

Cecily is also involved in cleaning the club for at least 4 hours every week, preparing all sit-down meals for the bowlers and organises the club special days plus shopping for the club’s bar and cleaning supplies. This and many other roles explains why Cecily is a worthy recipient of the NSW Volunteer of the Year award.
